In 2017, I provided an updated website design for Allovus, a small design firm based in Gig Harbor, Washington. Their existing site was clean and professional looking, but it had some experience drawbacks and no longer reflected who Allovus was or what it wanted to become:

To distill the team’s vision and create an organizing creative brief, I started the project with a discovery phase (existing materials review, individual staff member interviews, etc.) and then some team-wide brainstorm sessions for further follow-up. Those discussions were really fun!

Once goals were established, and the deltas clear, I began exploring information architecture and aesthetic direction – with an essential goal to create a flexible framework that Allovus could easily update and refresh, as the fellow creatives they are.

With placeholder content and image assets, I then iteratively created page layout and visual treatment options (based on the “PNW style” preferred) until staff had the sandbox to play in that they desired.

The site later came to life with the addition of internal content writing, illustration and development.
